Cocoa powder includes large quantities of minerals like Calcium, Copper, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium, and Zinc. All these minerals are found in greater quantities in cocoa powder than either cocoa butter or chocolate liquor. This is the solidated form of chocolate flavor that contains around 230mg of caffeine and 2057 mg of the obromine per 100g. This makes the chocolate taste pleasantly bitter and more flavorful. The presence of these elements makes Cocoa powder special as most of these elements are not available in cocoa beans.
Cocoa powder, an unsweetened chocolate product, adds deep chocolate flavor to desserts and beverages. Cocoa powder occurs when the fat, called cocoa butter, gets removed from the cacao beans during processing. The leftover dried solids get ground into the product sold as cocoa powder.
